Greetings, I used to use SI way back in the early 2000's, but have been away from it for many years. Tried using puppet recently for similar functionality, but must say it left me completely frustrated and annoyed. All the cool things you'd expect to work, like comprehensive node inheritance are horribly broken. Great idea, theoretically, but I just couldn't warm up to it. It has since been kicked to the curb. So I'm back, and I'm wondering what exactly the status of SI is these days? Lots of folks out there using it still? And if so, is there anything I need to be aware of running with latest debian releases? Regards, Christopher |

Hi Christopher, You're a little bit lucky. I've worked a lot to bring back to live systemimager on modern distros (rhel-6 like, fedora-17+ and ubuntu-12.10 (debian-7 like). The result of the ubuntu-12.10 build is here: (not debian-7, but ubuntu-12.10 is based on debian-7, so it should work) http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/repos/unstable/debian-7-x86_64/ This is the beta7 release (not a final release). It should work, but it is untested. Note also that you need some postinstall scripts to setup the bootloader and the network as systemconfigurator is not yet updated to new grub2 or NetworkManager. I've written some post-install scripts that can be of interrest: http://olivier.lahaye1.free.fr/RPMS/extra/si_scripts.tar.bz2 Feel free to report your experience here. Oliver, what is the sources.list line for this repo? I can't seem to make that work. Seems like you may need another directory between wheezy and binary-amd64, like 'main' or 'contrib' or 'non-free'. here's debian's tree: http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/wheezy/main/binary-amd64 ...or there's another way to specify it in the sources.list file I do not yet understand. -C On Mon, 2013-04-01 at 10:45 -0400, christopher barry wrote: > Oliver, > > what is the sources.list line for this repo?
