Hello all, My name is Andrei, I'm a DSP engineer working at Clair Global, but looking for other fun projects to do on the side. I'm new to open source community development, so I'll learn as I go, but I do have a good amount of knowledge in areas of signal and image processing as well as extensive Matlab experience. I've come across Scilab while looking for free Matlab alternatives other than Octave, which wouldn't for some reason run properly on my Mint machine, and then I found out that it's still very much in process of development, so I decided join the team and work on a few things. I mainly do audio one-dimensional signal processing at work, if any, but I had a strong emphasis on image processing in grad school, so this is a good way to keep it fresh in my memory and also do some good. I'm just starting to look through the current code and projects, but I hope I'll be up to speed soon. I'm sure that this will be a very enjoyable collaboration.
