If you get 401 Unauthorized when the scenario told SIPp to expect 200 OK, it probably means that, for some of the 500 users, you have a password mismatch between what is configured in IMS Bench SIPp and what is loaded in the HSS.

you were right, so i have delete bob0009 and make the new one, and the
percentage of IHS is decrease significantly..

now i'm trying to make new scenario with 500 users, but unfortunately
i got IHS=100% again, but now, the error log said 401 Unauthorized -
Challenging the UE..

what should i do?
here i attach the error.log and manage.log

[Sipp-users] Two bugs: remote host and IPv6

Can someone tell me where and I how I report bugs? I believe I have found two plus an enhancement:

1. get_host_and_port  should not use strcpy

This uses strcpy() to "copy" out the remote host.  Unfortunately the source and destination passed to strcpy() overlap and this is specifically forbidden by strcpy().  The result in my case was a single nibble (4 bytes) being copied incorrectly.

I've got a local fix which determines the length of the data to be copied using strlen() and then uses memmove() instead, which is overlap-safe.

2. IPv6 can fail

I'm trying to send a REGISTER to a registrar via an outbound proxy.  I'm using the -un option and this failed indicating that the protocol was not supported.  After a lot of searching and adding printf() I discovered that the code which creates the "un" sockets is passed a value "is_ipv6" - but this value has not been set-up at this point.

I have a local fix which passes local_ip_is_ipv6 instead, which looks right to me.

As a general comment, the IPv6 code is plain nasty with too many globals and parameters being passed around.  SIPp should use a single global (there cannot be any use for more than one) or no globals and always pass parameters.

Enhancement. There's no debugging/tracing!

See #2.  I spent most of a day narrowing this down by adding printf()s.  SIPp should have a debug/trace class which is enabled in debug builds and perhaps with an additional command line parameter.  This should trace at every key decision point so that bugs can be found quickly and rapidly.

I think it is simpler and better to build sipp from latest source: even if
you find packages that support  authentication and pcap, you might not get
the latest features.

Just do this:

1) Remove the package if installed (use yum remove or apt-get remove).

2) Install dependencies:

# For RedHat/CentOS/Fedora:
yum install openssl-devel libpcap-devel ncurses-devel
(in some RedHat/CentOS/Fedora releases, the package libpcap-devel is named
pcap-devel)

# For Debian/Ubuntu:
apt-get install libssl-dev libpcap-dev libncurses5-dev

3) Then build and install

mkdir -p /usr/local/src/svn
cd /usr/local/src/svn
svn co https://sipp.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/sipp sipp
cd sipp/sipp/trunk
make pcapplay_ossl
ln -s `pwd`/sipp /usr/bin/sipp

I'm a SIPp newbie and would like to install SIPp with PCAP play and
authentication support, on fedora f13 and ubuntu.

Where can i get the appropriate source or compiled instalaltion package for
both?  the standard install using apt-get and yum doesn't seem to support
the authentication and PCAP features.
