Singularity is an RFID (and other sensor) Middleware stack using Java (J2EE & Jini) technology, and implementing EPCglobal interface standards. Provides device management, complex event processing, filtering. and integration points to the enterprise.

0.1 Alpha release of the Singularity- RFID Middleware services: Application Level Event and Device Manager components.

Mainly a soruce code release. The build enviroment with ant and maven are checked in, with most of the build done in ant, and maven able to compile and build a site. There is a reader emulator, device manager that can be run, and the ALE service that has been tested in JBoss.

The future is now...The Singularity Project is actively finding RFID related open source projects, and inviting them to join us in forming a community for open source RFID solutions.

If you have an RFID related project please contact us at singularity@i-konect.com. The projects that we have reached out to so far are excited about moving the community concept forward.

Unfortunately, focus has been on the organization and planning, however, we are trying to balance that with actually working the technical side of the project. Singularity is an RFID Middleware project focused on a complete EPCglobal compatable Supply Chain Management solution for the enterprise. The goal of the project is to produce open source middleware components that will accelerate the adoption of RFID enabled solutions into the enterprise.

Singularity will leverage the Java (J2EE, J2SE, Jini) for greastest interoprability with enterprise infrastructure. However, the architecture will try to maintain as much technology platform independence as possible to ensure a .NET implementation is plausable.... read more
