I think it would save space if it were possible for
different galleries to access the same image file; instead
of having to upload the image twice, if you want the
image in two different galleries. For instance, on my site
I have a gallery containing specific artist albums and I
have another gallery with albums featuring types of
pictures. Most of the images overlap in both galleries
because they fulfil more than one category. Uploading
an image twice wastes space.

Yes, I'd like to see this feature also, it's really useful
when for dynamic content, say you have pictures from a trip
and want to separe them in subgalleries by theme, but you
also have a categorie for such themes, it really helps that
you would be able to not copy the file, instead "call it"
from the "images storage", this is something most gallery
systems lack.
I'm going to use this, hope you can add this feature soon.

Rudy

This will be partially implemented using categories
(desribed elsewhere on this tracker). Basically an image can
belong to any number of categories (which are essentially
just textual tags) and users can browse by category as well
as by gallery. As previously mentioned this may be a
SQL-only feature due to the performance issues associated
with the CSV backend.
