I'm using the latest CVS version too. I'm using Ruby 1.8.4 (FC5 package) 
(while the INSTALL file says that it doesn't work, It's worked for me 
till now!), ODE 0.5 and gcc 4.1.0 (FC5 package).

The other systems which I've checked where FC6 with it's standard 
packages and ODE 0.8 I think (not sure about this, they might use ODE 0.5).
