<pre wrap="">Hi,
Thank you for your feedback. I'll try to release a new version of both simspark and rcssserver3d ASAP (probably simspark 0.1.1 and rcssserver3d 0.6.1.1 or 0.6.2). (I'll try to change the sending method too.). So, again if anybody has anything to commit for RoboCup 2009 please let me know.
Good luck,
Hedayat

Hey guys,
I agree with Simon. The changes are not too big to disturb gameplay, but are useful enough for the competitions. In any case, the rules for Graz state that a new version will be used if it is released and that it is anticipated that that will happen. So I'd say go for it (if you have time for it), 0.6.1.1 sounds good too.
About higher resolution textures, I have prepared a patch for the server to use the new detailed robot models and possibly a higher resolution field texture (with the same grass-noise effect Simon did for GermanOpen ;) ), but since we have no confirmation from Aldeberan yet about distributing them, we'll wait with putting them in. Then for 0.6.2 we can also prepare a bit more fancy models for goals/ball/side perhaps.
I am not working on anything for the server at the moment, the timer things need a bit more thinking and hopefully we'll have a whole new plan for that after the TC meeting and discussions in Graz. The only thing we could put in maybe is the thing about waiting with sending messages to the clients until they have been gathered for all of them, but I can't tell whether I'll have time to do that soon.

<pre wrap="">I think those fixes are quite important. IMO it qualifies for a 0.1.1 version.

<pre wrap="">Those fixes seem small and nobody provided feedback on Sanders improved goal
detection (our agent has to score reliably before I can tell anything about
it...), so I don't think this already qualifies for a 0.6.2 version.
Things we could change with moderate effort to raise the number of features in
0.6.2:
- Rename the "simspark" binary to "rcssserver3d" to reduce confusion
- Higher resolution textures? I tried to apply a 1536x1536 pixel bitmap to the
field, it looks much better but seems to slow the monitor down.

<pre wrap="">We (magmaOffenburg) are not working on any special features.
