The only feedback is that some of the items in the file selector side bar (Documents, Downloads, etc) are not in English on an UK English macOS system.
Title say it all This was a great start. Hope to see an update soon
Would it be possible to burn an SACD.ISO Image file to a CD Audio or DVD Audio or Data? It would be a Simply Burns capability that I would really like to be able to do. SACD.ISO files are currently not recognized as a valid image. There are programs that can do it but they do not work in macOS environment. I would also like to be able to convert DVD-A.ISO to something playable on DVD. A defect that I see in the program is that to record multichannel audio, it does not allow to record it on DVD because...
Some progress: it doesn't crash! Tried both the Rip Disc [both complete and user-defined options] and the 1:1 copy. Program will start the process and begin writing the image_session.bin file, but will "hang" and stop writing. One CD will consistently hang at 64.5MB, and another consistently at 3.8MB. I've attached the image_session files from 1 of the CDs [didn't know what else to provide]. If there is some other file or log that will help with diagnostics, let me know.
Albert, I've released Alpha 3, which I hope should fix these issues. Please let me know if it helps. Thanks again for your efforts, Martin
Sadly, both the Audio CD rip and 1:1 copy crashed. I'm attaching crash reports.
Albert, that's good to hear! Testing cdrdao related stuff would be interesting (Ripping Audio CDs, and also creating a 1:1 backup of them). Thanks for your efferts, Martin
Just finished burning 8 data DVDs: 7 using the new 64 bit alpha 2 and 1 using rev428. No issues. Anything specific you would like to have tested. My setup is an iMac running Mojave 10.14.3 and an external USB dvd burner
Please provide feedback here.
Honestly I don't know and do not have access to a Sony camcorder. Best regards, Martin
I suspect this might be hardware related. Do other burn methods work, for example via Finder?
Hi Robert, at the moment I do not have access to a Mojave computer with disc drive, but in theory it should work. However, if you're interested, you can test this (potentially unstable) alpha version: https://sourceforge.net/projects/simplyburns/files/SimplyBurns%2064bit%20Alpha%201/SimplyBurns%2064bit%20Alpha1.zip/download Looking forward to your feedback! Best regards, Martin P.S.: As always, donations are welcome, so I could for example buy an external SuperDrive for testing :-)
I have been using SimplyBurns for several years with zero problems. The last few weeks it freezes up after a burn. It won't eject the disk, etc. I deleted the app and downloaded a fresh copy. This one won't even launch. Help! I really like and need this app.
Hello Robert, thanks for your interest! yes, I'm on it. Stay tuned! Best regards, Martin
I love this program, and have used it for quite some time. But, I see that it hasn't been updated in seven years! Kinda scary. Has it been tested against macOS High Sierra or macOS Mojave?
