I request the developing team to inform us regarding the status of this project.
If its development has been ceased, then there is no point for us to waste our time in reporting bugs and submit new feature requests.

Why not just email the authors? I did, and Sebastian tells me he is still developing SimpleMail, albiet slowly. New releases of SimpleMail seem to come every Xmas, and the last one was released December 2008, so I see no need to worry!
