I hate the word wrapping of the current (0.19 and before) Compose text editor.
By that i mean, if I am typing a paragraph (more than 1 line) and I re-read it before sending (to make sure it makes sense) and decide to delete or add some words in the middle of a line, then the word wrapping gets c*cked up and I have to manually edit the end of each line in the paragraph to make it wrap nicely again. This is a total pain in the arse.
The text editor gadget within IB2.3 now behaves much better than in previous versions - is there any chance SM could make use of the better editor?
I do like the existing ability to spell check as I type and this should be kept.
Also, can mailto: and URL links in the compose
window be clickable?

Moved to feature requests as the problems related are more
related with the text editor than with simplemail. I don't know
if the IBrowse Texteditor is available freely, is it? If yes I
would be happy if I can use it.
A solution to the wordwrapping problem could also be by
implementing a new wordwrapping before sending option.
mailto: and URL links. Maybe, but as I don't plan to stick with
current texteditor this has a less priority.

I have been in discussion with members of the IBrowse Development team including one of the Text Editor Field (TEF) developers and the current status is that the TEF is not currently freely available.
Until a replacement for the current SimpleMail editor is found, could we please have the facility to invoke an external editor? The SM editor should then (optionally) respect the user's word wrap preferences as chosen in the settings when a) returning text from the external editor and b) when pasting text from the clipboard. This is important if for example the user uses a simple external editor like the OS supplied EditPad editor.
