The Simple Linux Backup project announces the release of version 0.3. This is a development release; it is undergoing testing and may not be completely stable.
Simple Linux Backup is an easy-to-use program for backing up a desktop Linux system, with a friendly user interface.
Major enhancements in this version include:
- Backup Scheduler: A new button on the Advanced Options Page schedules the backup for the user, by asking for a backup time and adding an entry to the appropriate user's crontab. If the "cron" daemon is running, this will cause the backup script to run at the user-selected time.
- A new, experimental PPC version (for the Mac) is now available.
- Internationalization and Translations: The project has been internationalized and is now available in French and Turkish in addition to English. If anyone wants to help translate the project into other languages, please contact us at simplelinuxbkup --AT-- sjrnet.com !
- Advanced Options page now lists the exact command to be added to the crontab to execute the backup script. It now takes into account the directory where simplelinuxbkup is installed.
- New About dialog also lists contributors to the project.
