I've never tried it; googled but found nothing.. Because KDE
and Qt should heavily depend on X libraries. So maybe they
can work with a lightweight replacement of X (i don't know
any) but not with framebuffer I think.. Someone should try
and give us feedback.

Yeah; i even request a text-line menubar! I agree on x
& kde; i oppose gui or extra interface except hypothetically
for variable-width text (text also distracts me less when
doing graphics.)
However, fb is buggy; i could only successfully compile
2 fb devs into kernel 1 of 100 times. Later when i realized
it would have switched monitor on, it was less than 1/2-way
working and seems impossible to fix.
I left the comment on joystick.h. I do have joystick
compiled in, but do not consider (for someone compiling)
forced & plug&play to be very simple.
I wish you the best luck on developing , but have to
calm down & do no-joystick kernel when people are helpful
about dual-debug & fb. I see there is a listserv too.
