Many project live only from contribution, like
https://github.com/jayway/maven-android-plugin. And I think that it is not
top 10 project. Or our small project
https://github.com/inmite/android-styled-dialogs have 5 merged pull
requests already.

And GIT/Hq is also many times better than SVN.

But if somebody can't know it....
