Hi everyboy,

does this project support the simpad slc with ce.net also?
Is there any possibility to restore win ce?

Hi nico,

this project is only for SIMpad with linux. You can easily restore your
simpad from linux<->CE and vice versa.
The only thing you need is a serial cabel and teh serial download program=

for windows or for linux and of course the images. WinCE images can be do=
wnload
from the siemens site.

As I know the following devices were produce:

WP-50 for the swiss telecom same like CL4 with 16MB flash 16MB ram no pcm=
cia
T-sinuspad for the german telecom 16MB flash and 32MB ram and pcmcia
siemens cl4 same like WP-50
siemens sl4 32MB flash and 16MB ram and pcmcia

The rest is in all devices the same. So it should be easy for you to inst=
all
the image.

Tell me what device you have, with how many ram and flash. Then I will ma=
ke
you an image.

the linux images aren't the problem (i think ;). do you know where to get the CE
images? because I want to test linux on the simpad but if the apps i need do not work

i need ce back on the device.

Make that 64MB for the SL4. And to add something usefull. The image at
sourceforge has a fixed 32MB in the kernel command-line. Apart from
writing to memory and see what happens: is there a different way to find
out how much memory is in the simpad? Also CPU-stepping and such data is
not really available?

Sorry my fault.

SL4 -> 64MB.

I know these was a problemof the old kernel source in 2.5 they have chang=
ed
the flashmem detection.
Actually we didin't build a image for the smaler version.

Nearlly all datas are available over the proc file system.

It is not easy to make a image for all devices. In the beginning we made
an image for teh SL4it was much easier to develope with pcmcia and enough=

RAM and FLASH.

We are still on it to  develope an LINUX system for everyone.

I hope that will answer one or two questions.

Well, I do not need that stuff. But there are no WinCE images at the
obvious places, i.e. in the download sections of the various SIMpad
variants in the various countries (.com, .de, .at).
