Hi all, Due to the setup of the international mailing list I switch to English (sort of :). Okay, I see. Since I have no iPAQ and due to my ISP-setup I don't want to be online all the time. I will stick to a nfs-based build environment. I think I will use a nfs-root setup. That way I have complete control without the need to re-flash the SIMpad unless I change the kernel. Actually I can hopefully even simulate the cramfs-read-only setup(and switch between different environments) and test all that stuff without flashing. Now the above is nice for testing and development but also leads to a natural wish to the boot-manager writer. At least if I want to actually use the SIMpad for some other than development. :) Would it be possible to implement some sort of primitive boot-selection, e.g. different kernel-command lines(different root= or init= kernel-parameters). Maybe I could emulate a mechanism sufficient for my purpose with some change in the kernel(first try net, if that fails use some local root) but I don't think that is the place such a thing belongs to.
