Well, I finally did it. There's a Win32 client available for people to try
out. I'm sure it is broken in many different ways, and I compiled it on
Windows XP using VC++ .NET, so I'm sure there's DLLs missing from the
install, but please give it a try and send me any problems you have. As
usual, you can find it at http://bombyx.sourceforge.net/ under releases.
The two problems that will be most obvious are:
1. When you disconnect from a server, you'll get an access violation.
2. You might get other access violations at random points. Changing your
nick does it, etc.
3. When you install it, no Icons are put on your desktop. Just go to the
Program Files/Bombyx SILC Client and make a link from the bombyx.exe file to
your desktop.
4. It opens a damn console window when you run it. If anyone knows the
magic incantation that turns this crap off, please tell me.
Otherwise, you can connect to silc.silcnet.org and at least chat. All of
the recent builds will start improving in quality now that I have my cross
build system working.
Anyway, thanks in advance to those who can try it out.
