Note: This is a follow-up to bug #631644.

In versions of GCC >= 3.2, a multitude of warnings are
issued over the lack of explicit typename-ing. This
issue is discussed on gnu.gcc.help at:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&th=36f489c37da7d775&rnum=1

The short answer is: insert 'typename' before the type
name on every line it warns about. This should be
backward compatible.
