Better late than ever, but I have applied this fix in CVS.

I will soon be having a proper Cyrus v2.3 MURDER setup on which to do
more testing.

Hopefully the fix, as I have applied it, does not break v2.1 style
referrals.

I said, hopefully. :) (If any v2.1 admins are listening, I'ld like your
feedback).

I also intend to make the current REFERRAL handling just a little bit
better, too.
