First of all - thanks for this awesome application! I'm not sure if this is intended, but every time I navigate to a different directory, I need to hit "Restore" after "Return", or nothing happens and it feels frozen. After "Restore" is pressed, the directory changes and the list of files appears. I'm running it on Pi1541. Everything else works perfectly. Any ideas? Thanks! Andrew
I would love to play my MUS/STR files alongside my SID tracks. I have both HVSC and CGSC collections and both are impressive to me in different ways. Will this ever be a possibility? Thanks!
tapecart sd support added.
Done!
qui_oui .. right click my name and send me a pm. Thanks Mikko. :)
The code in this repository might also be helpful: https://github.com/alexkazik/tapecart-browser
Below is a link the would help explain to load files from the tapecart: https://github.com/ikorb/tapecart/blob/master/doc/ProgRef.md For the tapecart I could donate one to you.... just need to know where to post it...
Hi. I need som help to get started. Dont know how tapecart works and I dont own one - would be nice to have one. Some documentation on how to operate and program for it would be nice for starters. I need to be able to open the file, load the start of the sid header, close file, then open the file again to load into memory. I also need to check for i/o errors. Ok... please let me know how I can help... I have a tapecart to try out a beta version. Or do you need a tapecart yourself?
Yes, support would be helpful.
I will consider this for a next update.
Really only thing I miss on this device is decent sid -player support. Would it be possible to implement?
A little reverse engineering on the browser.prg on the Tapecart is all that is required!
Tapecart support is an excellent idea. Has there been any update on this? There is source code for it already here at https://github.com/ikorb/tapecart If you need support on this I can help out.

A support for the MMC64 / Retro Replay (as SidPlgin.bin) would be very helpful. Little unfortunate that it still doesn't support SidPlay64 after so many years ... :-(

Problem with SID Electric Jesus
Still thinking about it. Will get back to this once i am ready.
Thanks for the idea. :)
You are right. It does not work. From my memory : Only thing this does at the moment is to clear the registers of YOUR 2nd sid prior to starting a new sid song. This to clear and avoid any noise coming from your 2nd sid chip. It does not scan the music player to patch sid addresses for your 2nd sid.
Configuration file support
My Tapecart SD would not be perfect without sid-player support. ☺️
Actually what happens is no matter what I type for the address, it is sent to $D420...
2nd SID addresses $DE00 and $DF00 are ignored
Excellent work, great! Are you planning to add support to georam too?
Hi, would it be possible to change S mode so that it doesn't turn the screen back on when a new track is loaded, and hide the music bars at the top of the screen? A persistent blank screen outputless mode basically. I thought of this while using my C64 as a random play jukebox and seeing the lovely image of sidplay burned into the screen afterwards - fortunately LCD so it clears after a few hours.
I don't know that much about Tapecart. But I will investigate. :)
Have you considered adding support for Tapecart? I think it's a nice little device and would be perfect for creating SID compilations.
Hey, thanks for input. Memory is tight. Only a few bytes left. Only solution at the moment: Create several sids of last ninja 2, and change default song to 1,2,3 etc..
Oh, wow. Never mind, there is a big problem. Instead of jumping to the next song in a SID (see: Last Ninja 2 by Matt Grey), it skips to the next file. It really should only do that when it's at the last song of the SID, and instead go to the next song when the timer expires. Easy logic to implement, I'd think. Can that be a thing? To advance songs, not necessarily files? If it's only a one-song SID, it'd already be at the last file, so single-song SIDs would still behave normally... Unless there's...

Wellp, never mind ;) RTFM. The InjectSongLengths utility worked great. Only tweak is I have to hit "m" to switch to "N" play mode. And everything works great. My SID disk is now much improved. ;) Now to try creating some "albums"...
I've been using sidplay64 on a "SID disk" as a fun use of the C64 for a while now, and I've been thinking about the creation of SID compilations as "albums" to experience SID music more elegantly. To do this, a couple points of feedback (or perhaps guidance) around use of sidplay64 would really help enable this. In particular, to have the default mode of sidplay64 be to play once, then advance to the next song, just like a proper media player/CD player. And to do that, sidplay64 needs two things:...
Hi Falcon4, Sidplay64 only use kernal calls to load files. But in advanced of loading a file i need to check the sid header of the file. That is done by loading the first $7e bytes of the sid file to zeropage $0c-$8a. Then I close the file, detect the load adress, relocate memory and load the entire file, but this time to the actual load adress. I guess uno2iec doesnt like that I close the file after only reading $7e bytes. I will ask the author of uno2iec if he has time to debug.

The TFC are using the same registers as the REU -- so that setup is not possible. I am not sure about AR together with REU is possible. But I will check it out closer for next update. The latest version has two versions for 1541u2, one with REU and one without. :-)
