I have noticed that if I try to access sidb/admintemplates.php
with netscape 4.77 I get a blank page and a httpd/error_log
entry like this:
[notice] chilp pid NNNN exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
I don't have this problem with Opera 5.0.
One thing: I did not install the javascript files. Do you think that
may be the problem?
regards
Gerald

If you have the gd switch (in install.php) 'on', sidb will try to send the javascript files. I never tested what happens when these are not present. Try adding the javascript files to your installation and/or switching gd support 'off'.
It surprises me that you seem to have this problem only with the admintemplates.php page, since that is one of the simplest pages..

I have set the gd switch to 'off' but still have the same problem.
Let me be a bit more specific: when I access the option 'template'
the page appears fine, I have trouble when I ask to 'add new template', either as simple user or as sysadmin. But only with
Netscape 4.77.
When I use Opera the page appears to be OK, but I cannot find
any kind of "OK" button to save the template created.
My next move will be to add the javascript files.

Hmm, that sounds like a configuration problem. I cannot reproduce it on my server here or on the demo server (http://impi.leidenuniv.nl, guest guest).
- Did you check out the complete cvs, or only parts of it, or are you using v0.17?
- Can I access your server from here?
- Do you see anything funny in the html source of the page?
- Do you have huygens installed or accidentally fool the system into thinking it is installed ?
- In Opera, do you see the fields specific to 3-D images (voxel size, etc..)?

- I've got the v0.17 tar.gz from sourceforge.
- Yes, you can access the server, I will send you the url in a
separate message.
- I get a perfectly blank page
- I did not install huygens, I thought it was unecessary since I do not work with 3D images
- I don't see anything related to 3D images, the last thing I see is
Set the number of channels here:
nr. Ex.(nm) Em.(nm) Photons Pinhole Color
1 followed by a box.

Is the switch 'Are you using huygens2t' (in 'globals'/install.php) set to 'Yes'? When I do that (without having huygens installed) I get a similar problem.

Indeed, in my installation huygens2t was set
no YES, changing it do NO made the page
appear correctly. Funny, I could swear I had
set it to NO since the beginning.
Thanks!
