I think that your scripting skills are welcome in this field. for clarification, my perl knowledge is limited. i write scripts that don't communicate much, that handle HTTP POST requests via StdIn and such. i have no knowledge about interaction with a process. in addition to that, i cannot run tests since i'm on a windows box. (i just set up suse linux some days ago but i'm _far_ from being able to do big steps). if despite that i could be of any help let me know. > Another way to help us is to design an attractive web page with an > attractive logo. not sure about graphics, but designing the website sounds very interesting. do you have the php sources available in a cvs module or something? my ideas are w3c standards compliance, a little seo and a design that looks fine not only in some browsers. if you have specific ideas please let me know. regards, C.Löser -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup |

Hi Clemens, I think thet there is an interesting issue for you. The next step in=20 developing shweby is the web interface. The web interface in Middleman=20 is written on C, which is not an excellent choice. Basile Starynkevitch=20 (see the email adress above) would like to rewrite the web interface in=20 a CGI manner. I think that your scripting skills are welcome in this fiel= d. Another way to help us is to design an attractive web page with an=20 attractive logo. If you are interseted in these fields, let us know. Best regards, Riadh. Dear all, Here a new release of shweby software (0.9.1). It contains bug fixes to last 0.9. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=81619&release_id=167525 For POESIA developers, please check out our CVS repository on Sourceforge, not on Picolibre. The CVS repository on Picolibre is no more maintained. Your comments are welcome. Regards, Riadh. |

Hi all, There are still otheir bugs. Shweby is not working very good when it connects directly to the Internet. That will be fixed in a few days... Regards, Riadh. |

Hi Jeremy, Thank you for finding a vicious bug. The problem happens because you are not surfing the web through a Squid cache (we are obliged to go through a cache because we are inside the University firewall !). I runned shweby on a machine outside the firewall and I got the same result. Shweby hasn't stripped the "Transfer-Encoding: chunked" from the response headers before sending it to the client. The patch is very simple: In src/protocol.c, add this in line 302: connection->rheader->chunked = FALSE; Then make, that will be fine. Thaks again, Riadh. hi, now that i have subscribed to the devel malinglist i'd like to introduce myself. my name is clemens löser and i'm generally interested in proxy caching. i have also contributed a bit to the squid project. i'm not a c/c++ coder though, my scope are gui's (webinterfaces) in the first place. i have html, javascript, vbscript and perl scripting skills and also code in visual basic. i run a win2k box (using the winnt port of squid) and have never really been familiar with unix/posix stuff. still, i would like to track the developement of shweby. best regards, c.löser -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup CareerBuilder.com has over 400,000 jobs. Hello, First, I would like to say this implementation is much more stable than squid-icap port. However, I did manage to find some problems, and am trying to find the source.... Basically shweby is not processing select websites correctly, and returning either nothing or garbage to the client browser. Usually these webpages will come up blank when you hit refresh, very rarely do you get the "garbage response" (see below). This problem occurs with out without icap services enabled. This problem did not occur with Middleman 1.5.3 or Middleman 1.6 For example, this is what happens when going to http://shweby.sourceforge.net using Mozilla 1.3 as the client, and hitting the refresh button a few times (note, usually it is nothing that is returned to the client). I have been trying to locate the source of the problem with little luck. However, I have not worked with middleman before today. The above shows up in the View Document Source.... More information comming as I continue to find a solution.... Regards, Jeremy. server sends a modified request, and <a href="icap_proxy_2.gif">figure 2</a> shows the case when ICAP server satisfies the HTTP request by an HTTP reply.<br> <br> <h3>What does ICAP server do?</h3> ICAP is designed in order to adapt the delivered content to the clients.
