To install for Debian/Ubuntu, download the archive (I guess you have already done that). For Ubuntu, this can be run on Intrepid onwards. tar xzf shipstime-applet-x.y.z.tar.gz cd shipstime-applet-x.y.z ./configure --prefix=/usr --libexecdir=/usr/lib/gnome-panel make sudo make install Add to your panel (right click on a clear bit of panel and select from the list) and bells will start ringing every half hour, with notifications of which watch we are currently in. Enjoy!
