I think it's not the retention (the scheduler say it bypass it because the file do not exist).
the problem occurs at the brok generation (get all data fro the broker in fact). Here, it try to take a a tab a bool (not good :) ).
The only property that is using the to_hostnames_list is the parents property, but I don't see how such a thing can be changed into a bool.
Is it possible to send me (email@example.com) the configuration so I can reproduce and hunt this bug? It will be more easy than ask you to add some debug print every where :)
Does creating a empty file on that other machine let it start
