I have used shfs a few times now and have thought up
some features that would make it more enjoyable to use.
Please let me know the feasibility of my suggestions.
1) Symbolic link resolution
Currently when I mount a remote filesystem I get a
bunch of broken symbolic links because they are treated
in an absolute fashion. Hopefully there is some way to
treat them relatively
2) Caching
It would be nice to have a filesystem mounted
psuedo-permanently (while the PC is on). What I suggest
is to have files stored locally and then sent when a
connection to the remote filesystem is available. A
queue system for sending files would be nice, as slow
connections really freeze file operations up on Linux.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
