[Shellter-general] GUI - 2.8.2

Pleased to say that the GUI issues are now resolved with 2.8.2 and I am
now willing to move from Thunderbird (which has been a diamond in the
recent alpha and beta tests) to  Evolution full time :)

Hi,

I've found the same behaviour on other systems. I'm using clean test
images (no other software installed). I've tested these systems:

* Win xp sp2 english, catalan regional settings -> english installer,
catalan evo
* Win xp spanish, spanish regional settings -> english installer, spanish evo
* Win xp french, french regional settngs -> english installer, french evo

i think there's something funky with your environment, because catalan

know installshield has import/export for dialog strings, but what i'm
telling you is that all of the strings are already translated for
catalan.

first of all, good work! Many thanks.

I've downloaded and installed evolution-2.8.msi. Evolution suite is
currently translated to Catalan (i'm one of the translators that works
on it) and when I run it, it uses Catalan as configured on Windows,
but the MSI installer screens are not translated. This is very
important for us in order to distribute it to the Catalan users.

So, there are two choices:

* Modifying the MSI with Orca, maybe using an MST for translation,
* Rebuilding the whole MSI.

If you're using IS 8, I could rebuild it myself. Also, as I've
mentoined, IS lets you export strings to a simple unicode text file; I
could send you the translated strings so you integrate them on your
installer for future releases tool.

I have and interesting problem that someone might have encountered. I
installed Evolution w32 on a client PC and it all works perfect except for
printing. When a print job is sent it prints a mirror image of the email, so
everything looks back to front. This is on a Windows XP machine which
connects to a Linux Mail server running cyrus imap. Anyone got any ideas?
from any other application it prints fine.

Hi all,

First of all, I'll introduce myself. I'm Xavier Conde, and I've worked
on the translation of Evolution to Catalan. We're interested in having
the MSI installer translated to Catalan, since we consider an
installer just as important as any other part of the software. As far
as i know, there are two ways to localize an MSI:

1. Creating an MST/editing the MSI with Orca.
2. Exporting the strings from Install Shield to a Unicode file, and
then importing them into the InstallShield project.

Despite (1) would be very straightforward, I prefer (2) since it's
easier to send a txt file to be reviewed by the translation team
rather than an .mst. But I will need your help for 2 :).

I would like to know if it's possible for you to provide the strings
on a txt (I remember there is an option on install shield to export
strings) and provide rebuilt packages that support catalan
installation. I think it would be interesting for everybody who wants
to localize the installer, since Evolution is so widely supported on
many languages.

I'm impressed by the Evolution installer for Windows! very nice!

I have one small thing buggying me now...and that is to Sync
Contacts/Calendar with my Smartphone (SPV C550)
Is there anyone with an experience of this? or is it possible to get the
gnome pilot tools installed into my windows installation.

I wanted to try Evolution to test its functionality before migrating a =

I have tried w32 Evolution 2.6.3-5 over the past week.  It has been a
complete failure!
Having successfully downloaded (twice. ... checksum error on first =
download)
and installed, it seemed to work satisfactorily.
Then it began to behave badly - window "Not responding" after being left
idle for a few hours.
Now, it will not load the program. =20
"evolution-2.6.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

I appreciate that this windows version is still developmental; however,
having scanned every available electronic source, I cannot find anything =

help any further.
