Performance of evolution

I installed evolution 2.6.2-5 and successfully connected to my exchange server.

But the performance is unusably bad.  Very high delays on everything, including seeing the rollover effect on toolbar buttons.  I am not synchronizing when I get these problems.  Seems to be a lot of disk activity going sometimes as well.

Anyone else have these issues, or suggestions of what the matter is?

I have the same problem...except I have not imported anything yet. Sending and recieving mail is fast, as expected, but opening Evolution, switching between views (Email, Calendar, Contacts, etc.) is extreamly slow...painfully slow in fact.

      This is on a:
      WinXP SP2
      Pentium D 2.80GHz
      1.00GB RAM
      No other apps open

      Well for me this helped:

I replaced the cairo lib(which is version 1.2.4 i think) with the latest one. You can grab a copy here:
      http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/binaries/win32/dependencies/cairo-1.2.6.zip.

Also, i dont know if this makes any difference, but i dont use the MS-Windows theme, but the Gtk-Wimp

I work on 1.3GHz with 1GB RAM and XP Sp2 and evolution is as fast as outlook 2003 (or better almost).

      Hope it helps you
