Possible improvements:

Consistent look between classic view, swosch view and conference overview

Nice colors, shadings, shadows and whatever nice stuff one can think of.

"Glass button in GDI+" could be possible to use.

For the conference overview it should be very straight forward.

For the MessageTreeControl refactoring out the internals to a drawing library and doing a hack around the timer is needed to make it work.
