When you perform a cvs checkout the expand-modules request is sent to the repository which basically involves recursion through the server file system below the specific module you have specified. AFAIK (as far as I know) there is no way to checkout an individual file. Once you get the module checked out however you are able to update single files from the repository. =20 So the cvs root here should be: :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/sharpcvslib The module would be sharpcvslib =20 Once you specify this the project will be checked out to your local drive in the folder you have specified (with tortoise this is the folder that you right-clicked on) into the folder sharpcvslib (which is taken from the name of the module). =20 =20 To break it down then it would like the following: Protocol: pserver Server: cvs.sourceforge.net Repository Folder: /cvsroot/sharpcvslib Username: anonymous Module: sharpcvslib =20 =20 Cheers, =20 =20 =20 Clayton =20 -----Original Message----- From: Steve Kenzell [mailto:s.kenzell@comcast.net]=20 Sent: October 3, 2003 1:08 PM To: sharpcvslib-developers-admin@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: unable to checkout main.cs =20 =20 =20 =20 =20 I am unable to check out main.cs. Hi Steve,

The module information has to be = the name of the top level component you are seeing on viewcvs.  In the case = of sharpcvslib there are 2 modules, sharpcvslib and www (for the website).  When = you perform a cvs checkout the expand-modules request is sent to the repository = which basically involves recursion through the server file system below the = specific module you have specified.  AFAIK (as far as I know) there is no = way to checkout an individual file.  Once you get the module checked out = however you are able to update single files from the = repository.

So the cvs root here should = be:

      =       = :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/sharpcvslib=

The module would = be

      =       sharpcvslib

Once you specify this the project = will be checked out to your local drive in the folder you have specified (with = tortoise this is the folder that you right-clicked on) into the folder = sharpcvslib (which is taken from the name of the module).

To break it down then it would like = the following:

      =       Protocol: pserver

      =       Server: cvs.sourceforge.net

      =       Repository Folder: /cvsroot/sharpcvslib

      =       Username: anonymous

      =       Module: sharpcvslib

Cheers,

Clayton
