Shareaza's functionality in wine is greatly improving. The menu bug has been fixed and now the only things that need fixing are the library and media player. Perhaps we should convert this project into a PATCH for use in linux including a different media handler(VLC?) and find out what is wrong with the library so it can be fixed as well. There are a few other small bugs(checkboxes don't always get checked) but shareaza works remarkably well using wine. Also I'm pretty sure this project is dead so we might as well take the easy route

UPDATE: Shareaza 3.0 is now in development and is planned to run natively on windows, linux, and mac. It will be written in C++ and use QT4 instead of MFC. Full details can be found at http://www.shareazasecurity.be/wiki/index.php?title=Future

Another Update: shareaza 3.0 aka panthera is dead just like this project due to a lack of developers. HOWEVER…. there is a project on sourceforge called quazaa (actually a from-the-ground-up rewrite of panthera) that is inspired by shareaza and IS BEING ACTIVELY DEVELOPED RIGHT NOW!!! It uses the QT framework and can already connect to the G2 network, perform searches, and makes a better hub then shareaza, it has integrated IRC chat, full skinning, translation support, a media player in development (waiting on QTmobility), working system log and neighbours windows, settings dialog, quickstart wizard, a proper website, and active community on IRC forums…..and the list goes on. http://quazaa.sourceforge.net is the link for anyone interested in helping out
