#11 digital artifacts during streaming

I am encountering regular digital artifacts (mostly chirps) during playback. shairport4w runs as a service on an asus pundit barebone with windows 7 32bit (1.25 GB RAM, 2.6 GHZ Celeron). the problem is actually more pronounced during the first 10 to 15 minutes and gets a little better after that. I am using an intel macbook pro with itunes 10.5.1 running on 10.7.2. the receiver is on 100mbit lan and my macbook is on 300mbit wifi (with perfect connection quality).

let me know if there is some kind of log file you need.
