Progress towards v0.0.6 pre-alpha

Given the month period since our prior news item, I decided an update was warranted! Development on SR continues at a steady pace. Earlier this month we drew up a final todo list for 0.0.6, which we steadily completing. Our next release is not yet scheduled, but is definitely going to occur within a month. Our current aim is to bring the game to a near *playable* level - with two final cleanup/polished releases after 0.0.6 before completing our pre-alpha development phase.

So, what recent progress has there been? The two main areas nearing completion most recently are programmermatt's permissions system (a prelude to his future work on a in-game location-based forum) and my own work on plugins. Both are working, but likely need some additional work before widely used. Levelling for character progression will be started this week. Also completed is a lot of small fry backend work which I will not bore everyone with :).

Once our alpha phase starts we look forward to bringing the game to life. I know it's not entirely enjoyable having only one creature and a handful of locations :), but we're nearing that stage when the game engine is near completion, our backend work finished, and we can turn our attention to what really makes a game enjoyable - it's content and events.
