It would be a great option to provide a context menu option in Windows to allow for the creation of CBR or CBZ type comic book files (which are just renamed zip (cb[z]) and rar (cb[r]) files. Currently the process is to select a group of jpg files, create a zip or rar file, rename the archive's extension to cbz or cbr respectively and then delete the original jpg files.
A one stop "Move to CBR" or " Move to CBZ" would be an enormous help for comic readers.
I cannot find an utility that provides this functionality.

That's not something 7zip should provide. What you are describing is the job of a small script.

Considering switching from Legroom's Universal Extractor due to semi-regularly having filenames and the contents of .txt files be corrupted when they contain non-english characters. More specifically Japanese Kanji and Kana.

Will 7-Zip open .zip and .rar files without causing such corruptions?

Made a batch file for compiling 7zip using visual studio 2010.For the community. Will need to edit the path in batch file to your respective paths.

    Hello Igor,
thanks a lot for that awsome packaging tool!

I miss a little option, that ask for higher privilege rights on Windows.
P.e. I want to backup an .ini-file in C:\Program Files. If I do this I get an error message.
For me it would be better, when I get asked by 7-zip for giving that admin right.

My workaround at the moment is to open '7-zip file manager' with admin rights and navigate manually to the folder C:\Program Files. This is not comfortable.

Maybe you could add this in a future release? I would love it.
    Best regards, Tm

It's amazing software, it helped me extract a folder which other softwares weren't able to extract. Thank you very much!
