I appreciate the technical effort that went into creating 7-Zip. It’s a brilliant piece of software, and above all, it’s free something we should all respect and value and I won’t be harsh on the programmer for the poor graphic design!

I must be honest about one crucial point: the lack of RAR support. This file format is extremely popular and widely used, and it’s hard to imagine any compression tool being considered without it.

Of course, I fully understand that the issue is tied to intellectual property rights, and not a technical limitation. But no matter how many updates or features are added, as long as native RAR support is missing, 7-Zip will always fall short of being the undisputed number one.
