I use 7-Zip on my Samsung Android phone with an encryption password to store my password files. For each app for which I need a password, I create a small text file containing my un, pw, etc. All those files are zipped and encrypted into the 7-Zip archive file. Occassionally, I need to see one of those txt files to recall my password, and so I look at the 7-Zip archive. The txt files are not listed in any sensible (alphabetical) way! I have hundreds of them, and I have no idea how to find the one I am looking for. There is no search mechanism in the Android app. The only way I can find the archived txt file I want is to extract ALL of the txt files. It takes a minute or so, but that is not too terrible. The extracted files ARE listed alphabetically and thus is is easy to find the one for which I am looking. However, then ALL the files are sitting in a folder on my phone, in an unencrypted form. That is a problem. So, I delete all the files and have to repeat the process the next time I need to find one.

My questions are:
1. Can the archive be searched in some way?
2. Can the archive be displayed in a more sensible way, say, alphabetically?

There is no official original "7-Zip" program for Android.
So you use used some third party program.

You’re right. I was using the native file manager on my Android Samsung phone. Since then, I downloaded the WinZIP app for Android, and it lists the zip’d files in a sensible, alphabetical order, so one can choose the file or two to unzip. Thanks for taking the time to “wake me up”.
