I've kept hundreds of confidential accounts + passwords ENCRYPTED using Microsoft's NOTEPAD and 7-Zip. They work great together. Edit the text password file, update it, and 7-Zip updates the encrypted ZIP file seamlessly. Now, my MS NOTEPAD "FIND" function will NOT work. I'm 100% current on Win10, but I cannot search or edit my password file that has over 3,000 lines in it, and easily encrypt the updated version using 7-Zip. I never had to SEE / EDIT the un-encrypted text file before .... 7-Zip allowed me to open & edit & save the text file inside the 7-Zip interface. So: is there a way to do this seamless open & edit & save the text file function integrated inside the 7-Zip interface using NOTEPAD++?
I'm IN and OUT of the encrypted text file MANY times every day. This is a superior function of the 7-Zip and default NOTEPAD marriage.
FIXED! The Microsoft NOTEPAD
Edit / Find / dialogue box has an option " [ ] wrap around"
When I checked that box, the FIND / SEARCH function started again.
Finally: the blend 7-Zip and Notepad with ENCRYPTION ON is wonderful. When I update my password file, save it ... the 7-ZIP program askes me if I want to update the encrypted one. YES. I have no trace 'unencrypted' password text file anywhere. I can clone this encrypted password file to my laptop / cloud accounts / smartphone / tablet / backup thumbds and drives. Everything is current and encrypted. No need for a commercial 'password manager'. Thank you, Igor!
