#434 Spanish Language file for 24.04

hello, here I've updated the Spanish translation to the current version of 7-Zip 24.04.

this is not a translation from scratch, but a translation based on the existent one, with various things updated, and some missing strings now translated, that were not translated previously or were translated incompletely.

the problem that we need both english words:
1) file
2) archive
and if we use archivo for file, then what we use for archive word?
example of problem case (it is not string in 7-zip):

archive contains 10 files

google translate to Spanish

el archivo contiene 10 archivos

google translate back to English

the file contains 10 files

It doesn't look as good as original text, because we have same word file instead of two words in original message.

So previous translator of 7-Zip used archivo for archive, and another word fichero for file.

to make a difference between file and archive, for example "archive contains 10 files" can be translated as "el fichero contiene 10 archivos"

Or maybe opposite way:
"el archivo contiene 10 ficheros"

Did you look internal zip program in latest Windows 11 (Spanish)?
There is "Create Archive" window in Windows 11.
What words they use for "Create Archive" and "Archive format" strings in Windows 11.
Also check another words in Windows 11 that you change like "symbolic link" or "hard link" and any another word.

I guess it would depend if the string is about a single file/archivo or various individual files/archivos, but if we are talking about something like a container archive, in that case I've noticed you used archive/fichero.

about "symbolic link" translated as "enlace simbólico" is ok, but "hard link" can be also translated as "enlace fisico" (physical link).

latest windows 11 has strings:
Create Archive
Archive format
symbolic link
hard link
You can ask someone with Spanish Windows to look it.

yes, what I mean is related to the differences between file and archive in english but when translated to spanish, for example in these strings...

Create Archive (if a zip/rar/7z) can be translated as "Crear fichero", but if not a container and its just a simple file like a txt, jpg, png, then it could be just "Crear archivo"

Archive format (if a zip/rar/7z) can be translated to "Formato del fichero" but if not a container and its just a simple txt, jpg, png, then it could be just translated as "Formato del archivo".

anyway in few hours more I'll try to download Windows 11 and install in a VM to check how they have translated these things there.

EDIT: here is a picture from Windows 11, where is translated as "Comprimir en archivo ZIP"

there is window in windows 11, where you can select archive format, and it shows strings:
- Create Archive
- Archive format
- symbolic link
- hard link
Look that window.
Also I suppose you can find some another Spanish strings in another places of Windows 11.

ah, I guess you were talking about Windows 11 Insider Preview.

ok, here are two pictures about how these things are translated there...

"symbolic links" is translated as "vínculos simbólicos"

"hard links" is translated as "vínculos físicos", this one is similar to the alternative translation (that I've mentioned in other message https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/patches/434/#7e33/0bf1/0d3e/bb81) which was "enlace físico"

anyway "enlace" and "vinculo" are the same in Spanish because are synonyms, but there is a small difference depending on where is used, for example "enlace" is more for machine-to-machine connections, networks, and related, while "vinculo" is for human-to-human connections affective/cultural, etc.

that's why I've used "enlace" instead of "vinculo".

As far as I can tell you use "archive" to refer to the compressed files, right? If that's the case using "fichero" and "archivo" makes no sense, at least here in Latin America I have never either read, hear or seen someone refer to a compressed file with "archivo", we call them "comprimidos" or "archivos comprimidos", or you could use "contenedor" instead

yes, unless there is another way to call them but a more literally translation and short word than as interpretative translation.

fichero RAE: https://dle.rae.es/fichero

for example, instead of "fichero" we could use "archivador": https://dle.rae.es/archivador but does not seems to be really appropriate, and "container/contenedor" neither.

"archivo comprimido" is better and appropriate 👍
