There are 4 million native speakers in nord east of Italy and Brasil. It is similar to Italian and Spanish. The language came from Latin as Italian and Spanish. At moment there are not so many software in Venetian: I translated N++ for example. There are other software open source like mozilla, N++, filezilla who translated other languages spoken in Italy as furlan. The Veneto in Italy is like Catalan or Galician in Spain.

I forgot to say there is also a vec.wikipedia.org community. Once the software will be published, I will advise them and ask them to help me to translate other software.

The default language in 7-Zip will be Italian for Italian version of Windows. So users must change it manually in 7-Zip to such "Venetian".
And probably only minor part of users will do it.
And Venetian transaltion still looks similar to Italian translation. So there is no big difference, even if they change setting to Venetian.

Venetian is more used as a spoken language than a written one because we don't learn it at school. It is a recognized minority
language in the Veneto region (a region of Italy) but not yet in Italy nation. It is recognised also in Brasil. At the moment there is no so much software in the Venetian language (i.e. Notepad++ ) and there is no O.S. in Venetian, so the people don't look for Venetian yet. It takes a long time to be used in 7zip, so I will respect your choice if you decide to not support it. For the problem that it is too much similar to Italian, many words are different from Italian in accent and some symbols/letters. Once there is a program to test, it would be easier to improve the translation.

I consider advantages and disadvantages when I include new translation file to package:
1) disadvantages: millions of users will have that unused overhead file. And package is slightly larger.
2) advantages: only minor part of users, for example, 100 from these millions will switch to Venetian. But even these 100 users will not get big advantage over default Italian translation.

Support a minority language could be a political choice and maybe some users could download it because there is also the Venetian language.
For sure the creator of Notepad++ likes politics :-) and maybe give political message with software is not your style.
Winrar have also minority languages like Galician or Catalan but I understand your point of view.
Thanks

7-Zip also supports Catalan.
I don't know statistics, but probably users in Catalonia can expect that programs can support Catalan, and they can try to switch to it in options.
But If users don't expect that program supports some rare language, they will not switch to it. Default langeage (like Italian) will be ok for them.
If you can advertise your Venetian translation at some external resource, maybe you can upload vec.txt file there, and you will get some feedback from Venetian users.
