The original one was outdated, so I used the English base file (en.ttt) and modified some strings.
The reason I made British English to change some text,

While the British English is not present, it only stays English (English) language. However, some strings uses American English in which we compared like this:

  • Favorites -> Favourites
  • Synchronize files -> Synchronise files
  • &Add Folder to Favorites as -> &Add Folder to Favourites as
  • Analyzing -> Analysing

Instead of the string changes, I made following this comparison:

  • Are you sure you want to cancel? -> Do you really want to Cancel?
    ** This way it will matches from ImgBurn like that if you cancel during compressing, or extracting, moving files, checksum CRC, and more.

  • 2 Panels -> Two Panels
    ** Instead using numbers, it has been changed as Two Panels.

  • All users -> All Users
    ** Fixed as uppercase as it will matches from Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003.

Even several changes:

  • Unsupported archive type -> Archive type is not supported!
    ** Goes matches like from ImgBurn.

  • File '{0}' was modified.\nDo you want to update it in the archive? -> File '{0}' was modified.\nWould you like me to update it in the archive?
    ** An message shows that changes just like ImgBurn, saying that "Would you like me..." rather than "Do you want to..."

  • You must select one file -> You must select one file!

  • You must select one or more files -> You must select one or more files!
  • Too many items -> Too many items!

Above all these select file or more files, or even many items, It also added exclamation mark, matching from ImgBurn did.

During in Confirm File Replace dialog, there is a button Auto Rename, which it has been changed full string:

  • Auto Rename -> Automatic Rename

Instead for that, there are some strings that I made updated for British English. If you're interested this language, I hope you like it.

Thanks.

    I don't want additional language files in 7-Zip, if we have some translation file already. Most users will not change the file manually in options, if they have working version already, as I suppose.

    Is there "British English" localization for Windows instead of basic "English version" of Windows?

      Correct, Windows 8 introduced English (United Kingdom) language, under name en-GB Language code.

      Earlier than Windows 7, they don't have English (United Kingdom), and some words are not same in the USA English.

      So to be fair, English (English) is the default language, because it is English (United States).

      In some cases, there are various words different:
      * Favorites -> Favourites

      The fact the word are added "u" in the British English, this means it is different than English (US).

    UPDATED: 2024-03-23

    There are some strings have been changed at all, this also include Archive unpack and Memory RAM as well.

    • Added text "If you delete a file, it will be permanently lost." when you select multiple files, this also how identical matches from Ubuntu linux.
    • Under block 7800, and 7810, the text will now uppercase.
    • Also, some words saying "the operation is blocked". It has been corrected as "this" instead.
    • Another in Block 7820, the text shows incorrectly archive unpacking, this should be corrected as "unpacking archive", except archive unpack skipped. The only one last word includes exclamation mark that matching from ImgBurn.

    UPDATED: 2024-05-16

    With the release of 7-Zip 24.05, We just changed the following these:

    • Since 7-Zip 24.04 Beta released, it is now added Delete Temporary files (under block 910)
    • During testing no errors, the text "There are no errors" are now changed as "We've just confirmed testing the archive and there are no error problems!", matching like ImgBurn did.
    • During Update operations, the text says not supported, saying "Update operations are not supported for this archive.", and it is corrected to match from ImgBurn did: "The update operations IS NOT SUPPORTED for this archive!".
    • Another one "English letters" are appeared for Password, obviously it is intended not to allow use different letters, such as Japanese and Spanish letters, may cause not work properly.
    • Moving long path to Recycle Bin text changed, initially just like how ImgBurn did: "As Michelpuri would say, "Hmm. It appears we cannot move these file with the long path to the Recycle Bin".\n\nThis means the system has been denied and you can't continue it.\n\nRegardless if the file/folder name has long, please ensure you have do it manually instead."
      ** This is the reference called Yoda, you can see this post on ImgBurn forum.
    • Corrected to capitalize "CRC Checksum for data" instead "CRC checksum for data:". alongside with "and names".
    • Corrected "RAM size" to "RAM Size" for capitalizing.
