Hello,
In 7-zip version 19.00 i can associate some archive formats for 7-zip
by menu Tools, Options, System. There i can choose that 7-zip is the
default application for Debian package. Normally such packages have the
file name extension "deb", but according to Wikipedia page about Deb
file format for micro Debian packages the extension "udeb" is used
although the file structure is the same as for "deb" and "ar" archives.

So it would be nice if 7-zip can also be associate with the "udeb" file
name extension.

Furthermore no mime type application/vnd.debian.binary-package is
registered for Debian packages on Windows.

Thanks
Jörg Jenderek

    Probably it's rare case.
Where do you see these udeb files?
    Can I download any example?

    Hello,

i inspected only a dozen of micro DEBian package examples like:

    e2fsprogs-udeb_1.44.4-2_sparc64.udeb
    libc0.1-udeb_2.19-18+deb8u6~kbsd8u1_kfreebsd-amd64.udeb
    libc0.1-udeb_2.19-18_kfreebsd-amd64.udeb
    libc0.1-udeb_2.25-2_kfreebsd-amd64.udeb
    libc6-udeb_2.19-18+deb8u10_amd64.udeb
    libc6-udeb_2.27-8_armhf.udeb

The mentioned examples could be found on Debian servers. For first
example the corresponding URL is like
    http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/e/e2fsprogs/

OK, UDEB packages are not so often used. I am often handling different
archive formats. Unfortunately on Windows system by default only common
formats like cab and zip are handled. So i like to have only one universal
archive tool like 7-Zip that can open nearly all packed archives.

So it would be nice if 7-zip can also be associate with the "udeb" file
name extension for micro Debian packages.

    Thanks

    Seems pretty rare indeed.
Why can't you just "force" it from explorer, whenever you'll ever met one?
