Using pkzipc.exe ver6.0, i compressed a dir with 2.33gb and 76000+ files.
7-zip cannot read the file. There are no error message.
can pkzip ver 6.0 open the zip? also try with 2 mb instead.
pkzip6 can open the zipped file 7-zip cannot
So far it seems that 7z does not fail because a certain dictionary size!?
If the archive contains more than 64K files it is a zip64 archive, and this is not supported by 7z.
yes. its >2gb and >65k files. Is there going to be support for this later?
7-zip supports >2gb and >65k files in zip, just not the new pkzip6 zip
7-zip supports more that 65K files, but still has 4 GB limitation for file/archive size.
A detailed description of the problem. I'm not a programmer and I hope this helps.
Uncompresses size = 2.10gb Number of files = 76771 Compressed size = 1.4gb Compression Program = pkzipc.exe (ver6) Filename = test.zip
pkzipc reads the zip file with no problems pkzip6 GUI reads zip without problems
when i ran "7za l test.zip" response is error
GUI 7-zip doesn't tell me any error it shows me the directory where task.zip resides but NOT the dir in test.zip
I tried winzip9 (6028). my test.zip file works perfectly.
That's why i think there is something wrong with 7zip.
