Question from a newbie:
I want to compress a single file with 7z (Linux) and encrypt it with the password ABC. I think this would be the right command:
7z a -pABC file.7z file
Is it right?
And the encryption method is AES256?
Everything is right. I tested that on Windows, though, but I think Linux version does not differ in syntax.
If you are compressing a single file, you may find it useful to specify additional compression parameters (method, dictionary size, etc.).
