Hi Im wondering you can help me please, I run a small business of 4 people but a disgruntled employee has encrypted all of my files on my hard drive which I use for work, he has now left the business. The HDD has a few thousand images which I use to prodce greeting cards .
all of the files now have an extension .7z and asks for a password . Is there anyway I can get my files back please ? ( kencharlton@yahoo.com)

Yes and no. But 7-zip cannot help you... You will have file a lawsuit against the former employee to obtain a court order for them either uncompress them or provide you with the password. (And possibly sue for additional damages as a result of lost revenues in the meantime.)
In the future, I suggest you maintain multiple secure backup sets of your important business files. I keep one set in my office, one set at home, and one set in a safe deposit box at my bank. I also audit them often (weekly) to ensure their integrity and validity against corruption and/or "tampering".
