    Hello,

I am using 7zip for years now and I have to underline that this is probably one of the most worthful peaces of software!

Currently I am increasing my use of 7zip to use it more frequent as my standard file manager. After learning some aweful hotkeys I tumbled over windows shortcut files (*.lnk). 7zFM opens the odd winxp explorer when activating them.

Is there a way to tell 7zFM to follow those links instead of opening windows explorer?

...I did not found any topic similar to that in this forums - no one got at this point before?

    Regards,
    Nicolas

Maybe later I'll try to implement it.

    Hello,

Any updates on this bug? It seems like there isn't much being discussed on the open internet. As of 2025 it is not possible to archive links on Windows.

The -l option is unavailable. I've tried the tar format, but the SL and HL options don't change anything. In the command line, they even trigger an error.

The .wim is at an unusable state. It works but only archives one of the files you selected, and you cannot add files. If you select the folder instead, it archives the links.

I would suggest installing WSL or using a bootable Linux USB if you cannot create the archive file by file manually.
