Good morning,

I use a small (27648 bytes) 7z sfx for an installer. Recently, users have started complaining that Avast treats it badly (http://masm32.com/board/index.php?topic=4148.0). Jotti reports five times Gen:Variant.Kazy.782, whatever that is. Of course, this is a known problem with crappy heuristic scanners.

Friends suggested to add a manifest and a VCB. Good advice, but there is already one, and it lists Igor Pavlov as the author of my installer...

Now, personally I have no problems with that, Igor is doing a brilliant job, and we cannot thank him enough for 7z. But what to do with crappy AV scanners? Can I change the VCB to distract the scanner, is it OK copyright-wise, and if yes, how could I change it?

Thanks a lot for advice,
jj
