when creating an sfx by using copy /b config.txt + archive.7z + 7zs.sfx sfx_name.exe I experience that the install info in config.txt doesn't work (yes, it is saved in UTF-8 format).
When I run the sfx it will extract the contents but despite what the run.cmd says, 7zip tries to run setup.exe presenting me with an errer that it can not find setup.exe. My run.cmd executes an msi file using the start /wait command and imports registry entries and this is not where the error is because it works when execuring the .cmd directly in the directory, and it even works in WinRAR. The strange thing is that I have been able to produce some 7zip sfx which work as they should using this method. Is there a bug somewhere or am I doing something wrong?
Try to rename run.cmd to run1.exe
Thx, it did help. After extraction 7zip launches the run1.exe but the .cmd is ruined and does not execute the commands. I guess I'll have to use StartX. Why the name run1.exe? Is it a must to rename the executables setup.exe or run1.exe??
