I know that 7Zip 4.0 is where Absolute Paths are supported.  However anyone know of a way till then that we could fake this in a batch file?

    7za a -tzip -r -m9  %USERNAME%_mydocs.zip  "%USERPROFILE%\my documents\*"

    thanks

      cd %USERPROFILE%
      7za a -tzip -r -m9 _mydocs.zip "my documents\*" -o%USERNAME%

will work if you don't mind the directory tree being relative to "My Documents" instead of "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents".
