    Annie Does - 2013-10-14

    Hi,

Love 7-zip. Use it all the time.

I would like to be able to set "show password" as a default. I checked the settings and did not see it listed. I understand why it is not checked all the time for security reasons, but I work from home and that is not an issue. But having to click show password each time and then click back into the password line is becoming a little annoying for my particular situation. I would just like to have it show my password as default, listed somewhere in the settings.

    7-zip 9.22 beta

    Thanks for any help

    try shell extension options:

    "Extract files..."
    "Add to archive..."

    selection should be sticky.

Sorry I do not know what that means. I am using Win 7 Ult x64. If accessing the shell extension options is available via Win 7, please let me know how.

    Thank you for your reply.

      Here is my meaning...

"shell extension options" = Explorer Right-Click context menu
i.e. right-click file and select menu option

      In 7-Zip File Manager
      Tools > Options | 7-Zip
Integrate 7-Zip to shell context menu
      [x] Extract files...
      [x] Add to archive...

      see example dialogs

Once "Show Password" is selected in dialogs,
Should be sticky - remain ticked between sessions until un-ticked.

Other 7-Zip shell context menu options
may not keep "Show Password" selection sticky.

Thanks for the explanation. Although now the show password is ticked and sticking, it is not working with .rar formats. I thought there would be an easy way to do this but I guess not.

        Thanks for the help fernando!

works with password protected RAR archives here.
          (7-Zip 9.20 32bit)
