.zix files are a very common file found inside .rar files from torrent sites.
The owner of winzix, the only application that can extract .zix files, creates these torrents so unsuspecting individuals spend ages downloading something, only to find in the .rar files there is a .zix file.
Why is this a problem? winzix contains adware. So people feel compeplled to install it because they spent so long downloading the .zix files, but when they do install it they are riddled with viruses etc.
So as the new version of .zix files are very similar to .zip files, it would seem like people like you (7-zip) who know what you are doing, might be able to add support for the files very easily.
And if you do, I can imagine it will boost the number of uses of 7-zip very quickly - as you will be the only application which doesn't contain viruses which can extract them.
Please please please consider this! :D

Looks like one more nonsense idea :-(
> .zix files are a very common file found
Why should I use it ?
