    Hi

Sometimes I am on a computer in a library that is very locked down.

When I try to run the 7z EXE it prompts me for a password. I can right click it and go to properties and unblock, but I still get the prompt. I don't know if the EXE does something that causes it to require administrative access.

If the 7z was available as a Zip file then I could extract it , as Windows natively supports Zip.

Or if there was a portable 7z that didn't require admin access then I could run it.

What can I do to run 7z when i'm on that computer?

    Thanks

You may download 7-Zip 9.20 Standalone (7za920.zip) to extract the installer. However, it is still desirable to provide at least one newest-version executable either "as is" or in ZIP format. You could file a feature request for that.

You can extract 7-zip executable installer (even newest version) by 7-zip on your computer and pack it as zip. It will be fully functional and portable program.
