according to: http://www.7-zip.org/history.txt SFS read-only support was added in 9.18 beta. I'm however running latest version 9.20 but when trying to extract or view SFS archive I get "not implemented" error in 7-zip.
What am I missing, any suggestions?
Thanks

Indeed, alpha version did the job without problem.
Uninstalled 9.20, rebooted, installed alpha, extracted my file.
File in question was linux root image from ISO of http://archbang.org/download from October (i see they updated ISO less then 24hours ago so exact file may not be available anymore).
I understand you are 7zip developer, so I will use this chance to thank you for your hard work and dedication. It is truly appreciated. 7zip is hands down best file archiver for windows platform. You should maybe put some donation link on frontpage, I'm sure people would support project in that regard as well.
Cheers

v9.20 can not open/read squashfs images if they use the XZ compression method. ZLIB works.

That worked for some squashfs I needed to open but does not work for LiveOS with ext3fs.img from squashfs.img (it is from Virtual Bridges Verde LEAF CD)

there is 2015 year and still stable 7zip is 9.20 with 9.38beta. If it's beta i belive it've got problems :)
Conclusion, squashfs with xz compression type is still unsupported.

Подскажите, а будет ли поддержка свежих версий squashfs(кажется 3.0)?
PowerISO(7.2) пишет что это "Regular SquashFS Archive", и нормально его открывает/распаковывает.

Maybe some unsupported compression method.
or some unusual headers, and 7-zip can't detect compression method.
Do you see compression method for that file when you open it with another program?
What program was used to create that file?

That squashfs file is OK.
But latest 7-Zip (after some update in lzma code) just doesn't like lzma in squashfs.
I'll try to fix it in next version of 7-Zip.
Thanks!

Try 7-Zip 9.25 alpha.
Can you extract any other squashfs file?
If you can't extract some file, give me the link to that file.

7-Zip can extract from SquashFS.
But 7-Zip can't extract from Ext3 filesystem.
Thanks, this freeware DiskInternals Linux Reader does mount such image - http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/
